RE (Religious Education)

RE Curriculum Intent
We have designed our R.E. curriculum with the intent that our children will become resilient, accepting, mindful and inquisitive learners. Children are able to draw on their own personal beliefs and become religiously literate across different faiths, beliefs and world views. Our curriculum and wider opportunities across school promote and reflect that RE has an important role in promoting spiritual, moral, social, cultural diversity and intellectual development.
RE plays an important role, along with all other curriculum areas, particularly PSHE, in promoting social awareness and understanding in our children. We encourage our pupils to ask questions about the world and to reflect on their own beliefs, values and experiences. Our curriculum is designed to encourage creativity, imagination, enquiry, debate, discussion and independence. Our pupils develop a sympathetic awareness of the needs of others and have an age-appropriate understanding of healthy relationships and of the protected characteristics through our RE and whole school curriculum.
